HGV / LGV Licence Medicals

Provisional Licence
For a provisional licence the potential driver will need a medical examination before applying for a licence. The HGV/ LGV training school will provide an information pack with D4 medical form. This form is the medical record of the examination and needs to be taken to the medical.

The DVLA require existing lorry drivers to have a medical at the age of 45 and then every five years until the age of 65. After 65, the medical needs to be conducted every year. The DVLA will usually send out a reminder letter, together with the D4 medical form, a few weeks before the medical is due. Drivers should always know when the next renewal/medical is due however Clarity Healthcare can help to manage this process for customers.
